Jennifer Aaker’s Meaningful Storytelling Another top-knotch video here on meaningful storytelling. Full of facts, figures, research and data on the power great storytellers have in the hands. Superb information here. Stories are meaningful, more impactful and more memorable than pure data. Here Jennifer Aaker weaves story with data effortlessly. She concludes that the most important thing is feeling connected in order to create meaningful storytelling. This means connected not just to the story, but storyteller to listener as well. Excellent stuff here. Meaningful Storytelling Soundbites She says ultimately, “those who tell the best stories become the best leaders.” What a great short video and a superb watch once again from Jennifer Aaker. Stories are meaningful because they’re memorable, impactful and they connect. Memorable moments we tell in stories can have real power – especially when compared to facts which often fade over time. Its a real super power of stories. Impactful stories are made from stories we believe in and what resonates with us. The personal connection the audience feels makes the story meaningful – regardless of data or statistics. In fact the brain is already wired this way: emotion then rationalizing.

Moving from the initial start state to the final or end state is key. Or from the Ordinary World we exit to a new state. The new state is the physical representation of the new world. Acquiring certain intangibles here are always contributing to your readiness. Gaining capacities at this stage keeps the character and the story moving forward. In every new state the character enters there must be a version of a boon, atonement or apothiosis. They are either implied or explicit. They are leading to the end state of perfection.
